One beautiful, sunny afternoon, deep inside a huge, green rainforest where giant trees touched the sky and colorful flowers bloomed, something very sad was happening. Some grown-up people, who were farmers, were running after a mommy orangutan, and she was carrying her tiny, precious baby orangutan tightly in her arms. The mommy orangutan tried her very, very hardest to run away and swing through the trees as fast as she possibly could, hoping to keep her little one safe from any danger. These farmers were trying to catch the orangutan because they thought she was a tricky pest that was eating their yummy crops. But actually, orangutans are usually very peaceful and gentle animals and they never bother people on purpose. Instead, it's often people who accidentally make the orangutans' lovely forest homes disappear to make space for farms, which makes it very hard for them to find food and live peacefully, impacting wildlife conservation.

Suddenly, a very loud and scary sound echoed through the towering trees – Bang! It was a terrifying sound, like thunder, and the mommy orangutan sadly fell to the soft forest ground. There was a little bit of red on her furry chest, and she was very, very hurt. But guess what? A truly lucky thing happened in that scary moment! The bullet did not touch her little baby orangutan at all; it was safe from harm. Before the mommy orangutan closed her eyes for the very last time, she gathered all her strength and held her baby super close in a tight, loving hug, giving one last gentle squeeze. Then, she whispered a very soft, quiet message into her baby's ear, 'Run, my little one. Please run and keep yourself safe, my dearest child.' The tiny, poor baby orangutan didn't understand everything, and for a moment, it just stood there, confused and trembling. But then, with big, shiny tears rolling down its furry cheeks, it understood its mommy's last wish and ran as fast as its tiny legs could carry it, deeper and deeper into the quiet, dense forest, starting its journey of animal survival.

After running and running for what felt like a very, very long time through the thick jungle, the little orangutan baby started to feel incredibly tired and weak. Its little legs ached, and its eyes felt heavy. It found a quiet, hidden spot under a tall fig tree, which had big, green leaves offering cool shade, and sadly sat down to take a much-needed rest. Even while resting, its soft, brown fur was still wet with big, rolling tears. Oh, it felt so incredibly sad and lonely! It knew in its tiny heart that it was now all alone in the huge, wild rainforest, separated from its warm, loving mommy forever and ever. A little, worried question popped into its head as it looked around the vast, green world: 'Will a small, helpless baby orangutan like me truly be able to live and grow up strong and happy in this big, wild forest all by myself?'

The little orangutan baby stayed right there under the big fig tree for a little while longer, feeling very sorry for itself and wishing things were magically different. Its tummy started making loud rumbling noises, like a tiny thunder inside its belly! It was so, so hungry, but it didn't know what kind of yummy forest food was safe and good to eat. Just then, it noticed some happy, playful monkeys swinging high up in the very same tree, chattering cheerfully as they munched on delicious, juicy fruits. The baby orangutan looked up with big, hopeful eyes and cried out, 'Oh, kind Uncle Monkey, please, please could you drop some of those sweet fruits down to me? My tummy is so, so hungry, and I don't know what to eat!'

The friendly and kind monkeys heard the little orangutan baby's plea! They stopped their chattering and looked down with sympathetic eyes. With big smiles on their furry faces, they quickly started to drop lots and lots of tasty fruits down from the tree, aiming them carefully so they landed near the hungry baby. There were so many yummy figs falling all around, a delightful shower of food! The very hungry baby orangutan quickly picked them up, one by one, and ate the sweet, juicy figs with great excitement and happiness, munching them up as fast as it possibly could because it was so happy to finally have delicious food to fill its empty tummy.

All of a sudden, just as the baby orangutan was enjoying its snack, the monkeys, who were still high up in the safety of the tree, began to make very loud and worried noises! They chattered and screeched, making a big commotion, their voices filled with alarm. They were trying their very best to warn the little orangutan baby that something truly dangerous was happening on the forest floor below. A huge, long, and slithery python snake was very, very slowly creeping and crawling quietly towards the innocent baby, getting closer and closer without the baby even knowing! The monkeys knew they had to make noise to save their little friend from the forest danger.

The little orangutan baby, still enjoying its yummy figs and not understanding the urgent warnings from the monkeys, just stayed sitting there on the ground, innocently nibbling its sweet fruit. The enormous, long snake kept moving silently and steadily closer, ready to quickly wrap its powerful body around the tiny orangutan baby and catch it for its meal. But just in the nick of time, a very strong and brave big monkey swung down with incredible speed and agility! With a quick, gentle movement, it carefully lifted the baby orangutan right up onto a safe tree branch, just before the dangerous python could make its move and catch it. What a brave and heroic rescue, saving the baby from certain peril!

The kind and thoughtful monkey, feeling a wave of compassion, felt very, very sorry for the little orangutan baby, who was now all alone without its mommy and daddy, like an orphan in the vast forest. The monkey knew it had to help, so it made a very important and courageous decision: it would take care of the baby orangutan as its own! The monkey thought, 'If I don't help this little one, it might not be able to live and grow up strong and healthy in this huge, wild forest, which has many other animals that might try to hurt it.' So, the caring monkey decided to look after the baby orangutan every single day, teaching it how to find food and stay safe, until they could hopefully find its real family. Did you know that orangutans usually live in big, happy families with a strong daddy orangutan, a few mommy orangutans, and all their cute children, making family bonds very important for animal welfare?

After a few short weeks of the kind monkey acting as a wonderful foster parent, teaching the baby how to climb and find berries, a truly amazing and joyful thing happened! The determined monkey, who had been such an incredible protector, finally found the baby orangutan's real family! What a happy day for everyone! The monkey gently and carefully handed over its beloved foster child to the big, welcoming orangutan family, who greeted the baby with soft hoots and gentle touches. From that special moment on, the little baby orangutan lived happily with its new, big family, which included loving aunts, funny uncles, and playful cousins. Even though its very own mommy wasn't there anymore to hug it, many other kind female orangutans in the family made sure to take excellent care of the baby, giving it lots of love, attention, and warm cuddles, ensuring its continued survival in the rainforest.

As the days and weeks passed, filled with swinging through trees and munching on juicy fruits, the baby orangutan grew bigger and bigger, transforming into a healthy, strong, and brave young orangutan. Now, it was old enough and clever enough to live independently, finding its own yummy food and swinging confidently through the trees all by itself. Slowly, slowly, as time went by, it began to forget the deep sadness of losing its mommy, thanks to the love of its new family. But deep in its heart, the young orangutan always remembered the kindness of the monkey who saved it and hoped and wished that it would never, ever face the same sad end as its mommy, who was hurt and killed by some humans who were not very thoughtful about the rainforest environment and its precious wildlife. The young orangutan learned to be strong, wise, and live a full, happy life in its beautiful forest home, continuing the cycle of nature's resilience.
