For a whole week now, little Bobby's dear father had been feeling very, very sick. Bobby’s father was a hardworking fisherman, which meant he usually caught lots of fish to earn money for their family. But because he was sick, he couldn't work at all, and that made it very hard to get money to take care of everyone. All their family's savings had slowly been used up to pay for medicine and for their daily meals.

One quiet morning, without telling anyone, brave Bobby gently slipped out of their house. He walked softly towards the river, carrying his fishing rod and a small bucket. Even though he was still a very young boy, his heart was full of a big wish: he wanted to help his family by catching fish and earning money, just like his father usually did, so they could buy food and medicine.

Bobby carefully rowed his little boat to the special spot where his father usually found lots of fish. He waited patiently, holding his fishing line in the calm water. He waited for nearly two whole hours, but oh dear! Bobby hadn't caught even one wiggly fish. Not a single one! Feeling a little bit sad and disappointed, he decided it was best to just go home and try his very best again the next day.

Just as Bobby was about to pull up the heavy anchor from the river bottom, something very surprising happened! A large, furry otter popped its head out of the water, right beside his boat. Bobby was so surprised! The friendly otter looked at him and said in a clear voice, 'There are no yummy fish here, little boy! The sneaky crocodiles have eaten them all. There were so many big crocodiles here last night! Come with me, and I will show you a secret place where there are plenty of fish waiting for you!' Bobby’s eyes lit up with hope, and he happily agreed.

Bobby quickly pulled up the anchor and started to row his boat again, following exactly where the clever otter was swimming. The otter led him deeper into the peaceful river. After rowing for a little while, the otter stopped and said, 'Stop right here, little friend! This is the perfect spot. There are so many fish here! You can start fishing now.'

And it was truly amazing! As soon as Bobby gently cast his fishing line into the water, a fish immediately took the bait! He quickly reeled in a big, shiny fish. Every single time he put his line in the water, he would catch another fish, one after another! It was like magic!

The friendly otter didn't just show Bobby the spot; it also helped him catch the fish! The otter was super quick. It would swiftly dive into the cool water and catch the fish with its clever paws. Then, the kind otter would carefully hand the fish right over to Bobby, who was sitting happily in his boat.

Bobby and the helpful otter worked together, busy catching fish, taking turns and helping each other. They were a wonderful team! In a very short time, shorter than Bobby expected, they managed to fill a whole bucket with fresh, wiggling fish! Bobby was so proud of their teamwork and the amazing catch.

Bobby felt so incredibly happy! His heart was full of joy and thankfulness. He gave the kind otter a big, gentle hug and even a little kiss on its furry head. 'Thank you, dear otter,' Bobby said with a huge, grateful smile. 'You have helped me and my family so very much!'

Bobby happily went home, carrying the full bucket of fish. His mother was so delighted! She quickly sold all the fish at the busy market and earned enough money to buy everything they needed for their home and more medicine for his father. Bobby felt so proud and wonderful, knowing he was able to help his family earn money. From that happy day on, the clever otter became Bobby's very best friend, always helping him whenever he went fishing, making their adventures together even more special.
